Information Technology DevelopmentOverviewA number of innovative data analysis tools and technologies have been developed by the GCE-LTER project to accomplish various information management tasks. Most of these tools are used 'behind the scenes' to generate the various files and database interfaces available on the public and private web sites, but some of these tools are also available to individual investigators for use in their own research. Most MATLAB code is distributed in compiled form with basic documentation and detailed command-line help for each function. Requests for access to source code will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the GCE Information Manager for additional information. GCE Data ToolboxDescription: Custom MATLAB toolbox for metadata-based processing, transformation, analysis, and integration of ecological data sets (complete description available at http://gce-lter.marsci.uga.edu/public/im/tools/data_toolbox.htm) Requirements: MATLAB 5.3 or higher on Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP, Solaris, Unix, Linux (MATLAB 6.5 on Mac OS/x) Availability: see http://gce-lter.marsci.uga.edu/public/im/tools/toolbox_download.htm GCE Data Toolbox on the WebDescription: MATLAB Web Server applications are being developed to provide access to GCE Data Toolbox functionality for users without access to the MATLAB environment Requirements: any web browser Availability: Custom MATLAB and ASCII text file export and statistical report generators are currently available for all data sets in the GCE Data Catalog and GCE Data Portal via the 'User-Customized File' links. Additional web applications for data sub-setting, filtering, re-sampling and plotting are under development. Mapping ToolboxDescription:25-Apr-2008rating simple vector and raster maps and displaying station locations, site boundary polygons, annotations, and data values on maps Requirements: MATLAB 5.3 or higher on Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP, Solaris, Unix, Linux (MATLAB 6.5 on Mac OS/x) Availability: see http://gce-lter.marsci.uga.edu/public/im/tools/toolbox_download.htm |
